Selecting the Ideal Balcony Location
To ensure healthy plant growth, choose a spot that provides ample sunlight while offering protection from harsh weather conditions. Consider the following factors:
- Sunlight Exposure: A south-facing balcony receives the most sunlight, which is crucial for optimal plant development.
- Drainage & Airflow: Use pots with adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging and ensure sufficient airflow to reduce the risk of mold.
- Discretion & Privacy: Position plants strategically to maintain privacy, especially in urban settings, while allowing for easy access and care.
Preparing and Germinating Seeds
Choosing the Right Seeds
- Autoflowering seeds are ideal for beginners—they grow quickly, are resilient, and don’t require strict light cycle management.
- Feminized photoperiod seeds offer more control over plant size and yield but require managing light cycles.
Germination Method
Paper Towel Method (Best for Monitoring Germination Progress)
- Take two pieces of paper towel and lightly moisten them with distilled water. They should be damp but not dripping.
- Place your cannabis seeds between the two damp paper towels, ensuring they are spaced apart to prevent damage.
- Put the paper towels inside a shallow container or between two plates to maintain humidity and store in a warm, dark place (22-26°C).
- Check daily for germination—look for a small white taproot emerging (usually within 2-5 days).
- Once the taproot reaches about 1-2 cm, carefully plant the seed 1-2 cm deep in moist soil or another growing medium.

Week-by-Week Growth Timeline
Week 1: Germination & Early Seedling Stage
- Keep temperature 22-26°C.
- Maintain humidity at 60-70%.
- No nutrients needed.
Week 2-3: Seedling Stage
- Water lightly, avoid overwatering.
- Introduce gentle sunlight (5-6 hrs/day).
- Roots develop; first true leaves appear.

Week 4-5: Vegetative Growth
- Increase sun exposure to 6-8+ hrs/day.
- Start low-stress training (LST).
- Begin light nutrient feeding (Nitrogen-heavy).

Week 6-7: Pre-Flowering
- Plants show sex.
- Increase phosphorus & potassium.
- Slight stretching occurs.

Week 8-10: Flowering
- Buds start forming.
- Reduce Nitrogen, increase Phosphorus & Potassium.
- Watch for pests & mold.

Week 11-12: Late Flowering & Harvest
- Monitor trichomes (milky/amber means it's ready).
- Stop feeding nutrients (flushing phase).
